After the Core Module, every TestAS candidate sits one Subject-Specific Module matched to their intended field of study. Unlike the Core Module — which is identical for everyone — the Subject Module tests your ability to comprehend and apply concepts from academic material relevant to your chosen degree area.
According to the official TestAS structure, it runs for 90 minutes and consists of 10–15 testlets, each containing 4–8 questions built around a short passage, diagram, or dataset. Crucially, none of the subject modules assume prior technical vocabulary or advanced university coursework — they test comprehension and transfer, not memorised facts.
